A useful credential tells you which professional knowledge has been assessed. Our credentials cover several distinct areas, from ventilation inspection to chimney maintenance. Here is what each one means, so you can ask informed questions about the service you need.
NADCA / CVI
Certified Ventilation Inspector
National Air Duct Cleaners Association
NADCA develops standards and credentials for HVAC inspection, cleaning and restoration. Its CVI credential recognizes an individual professional's knowledge of HVAC system inspection, supporting informed assessment of system conditions.
HVAC system inspection
CDET
Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician
Chimney Safety Institute of America
CDET focuses on servicing dryer exhaust systems. It addresses the venting system, its maintenance and related safety considerations. Customers can ask about the exhaust path and vent condition as well as lint removal.
Dryer exhaust systems
CCS
Certified Chimney Sweep
Chimney Safety Institute of America
CCS assesses a professional's knowledge of evaluating and maintaining chimney and venting systems. This credential is relevant when discussing chimney condition, sweeping and the maintenance your system may need.
Chimney evaluation and maintenance
CCP
Certified Chimney Professional
National Chimney Sweep Guild
CCP assesses knowledge of chimney maintenance, relevant codes and standards, and combustion principles. It is a separate chimney credential that helps customers understand the professional qualifications behind recommendations for their system.
Chimney maintenance knowledge
NFI
National Fireplace Institute Certification
National Fireplace Institute
NFI credentials address planning and installing residential hearth appliances and their venting systems. Qualifications are specific to the credential category. Ask which qualification applies to your fireplace, stove or proposed hearth work.

EPA 608
Section 608 Technician Certification
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency program
Section 608 certification covers technician knowledge for work involving regulated refrigerants in air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment. The certification type determines its equipment scope. This qualification applies to refrigerant work rather than general duct cleaning.

Who holds the relevant qualification?
What will the service include?
Does the work require a local license?
Licensed, insured and bonded
AirDuct ProCare is licensed, insured and bonded, with applicable state and local HVAC licensing. Licensing concerns authorization to perform particular work; professional certification concerns knowledge in a defined area. Ask about the requirements that apply to your location and proposed service.
Can I see your certifications during an inspection?
Yes. We can show you our certifications on request when we visit for an inspection. Ask to review the documentation relevant to your service, and we can explain the credential and its scope. For questions before your visit, use Contact support.
Which credentials apply to my service?
CVI relates to HVAC system inspection, CDET to dryer exhaust systems, and CCS and CCP to chimney evaluation or maintenance knowledge. NFI qualifications concern hearth appliances and venting. EPA Section 608 applies to refrigerant work. Ask which credential is relevant to your equipment and proposed service.
Is CVI a company or an individual certification?
NADCA is the industry association. CVI is its Certified Ventilation Inspector credential, awarded to an individual professional. When reviewing our documentation, ask how the relevant qualification applies to the inspection or service you are arranging.
Does EPA Section 608 cover air duct cleaning?
Section 608 addresses refrigerant handling in covered air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment. It is a technician qualification for that work. Air duct cleaning and dryer vent service have different scopes, which is why credentials should be matched to the work being proposed.
Are you licensed, insured and bonded?
Yes. AirDuct ProCare is licensed, insured and bonded, with applicable state and local HVAC licensing. We have no upfront payment and no hidden charges. We review the proposed work and agreed pricing with you, and you can ask for clarification before authorizing a service.
